The Billionaire watch collection by Jacob & Co. started in 2015, notably making headlines in 2018, when Floyd Mayweather purchased one for $18 million.
Jacob & Co. has since produced several versions of Billionaire watches. The latest creation, which debuted in late 2020, gets its name from ASHOKA® cut diamonds, named in honor of King Ashoka Maurya, a powerful and benevolent Indian emperor from the third century. With a rectangular shape, rounded corners, and 62 facets, the style has also been called “bullet cut.” The diamonds are set using the sophisticated “invisible setting” method, so none of the supporting metal is visible.

Choose Your Accent
The Billionaire Ashoka is covered with more than 171 carats of diamonds. The crown of the watch, at 3 o’clock, has been seen with different accents, including a rose cut diamond (first video), an emerald (second video) and a ruby, we presume (third video). The watch was most recently dressed with its green emerald accent, presumably because green is popular for luxury watches in Dubai, where the Billionaire Ashoka has been on display.
