IGI has begun providing retail sales training programs and accredited training courses for jewelry professionals in Egypt.
The institute’s debut there was announced in a Cairo hotel at an Iftar dinner ceremony during Ramadan month, attended by representatives from IGI, the Egyptian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and leading Egyptian brands including Damas Jewelry, Cherif El Sirgany, Botros Jewelry, Rafaat Jewelry, Sarana Jewelry and Omar El Khayam Jewelry.

Dr Wasfi Wasef, head of the Gold Division of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, commented:

For 45 years, IGI has provided jewelry retailers and consumers with a wide range of services including independent diamond classification reports, colored stone reports, stone identification and evaluation reports, diamond certification and proof of origin, laser engraving services, as well as the issuance of traditional jewelry certificates.
