IGI has joined forces with the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association (DMIA), the leading nonprofit organization addressing domestic and global diamond industry issues, to introduce a same-day diamond verification initiative for the trade. Initially for DMIA member, IGI plans to expand this offering to additional groups in the industry going forward.
The service, developed by IGI in collaboration with DMIA, ensures same-day, expedited diamond verification for both single stones and parcels. DMIA members can access the service by completing a submission form, available through the organization or at the IGI intake counter in their offices located at 545 Fifth Avenue, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
“Ensuring the authenticity of diamonds is crucial and our partnership with DMIA allows us to offer a sought after, same-day verification service. This collaboration highlights the commitment of IGI and DMIA to uphold industry standards,” stated Avi Levy, president of IGI North America.
Stuart Samuels, president of DMIA added, “We cannot overstate the importance of diamond verification in order to protect the integrity of the natural diamond industry and the reputation of each of our members.”
This innovative initiative was formally announced at a special meeting hosted by DMIA on January 10. Representatives from IGI and the DMIA Diamond Integrity Committee (DDIC) provided attendees with comprehensive details and answers to queries.
