Forbes Features IGI Graded Gotlib Cufflinks

Forbes, the global media brand that celebrates entrepreneurial capitalism, recently featured the “diverse, eponymous” cufflinks of David Gotlib, an Antwerp diamantaire who meticulously sends his gemstones to IGI before and after setting.

First noting Gotlib’s position as President of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse, the article names many of the prestigious luxury boutiques which now carry his creations, including Charles Krypell in New York,  Paris’s Hôtel de Crillon and La Joaillerie Fairmont in Monaco. The piece continues by detailing the genesis of Gotlib’s focus on cufflinks – a collection which now features more than 50 designs.

In my personal collection, I have a little over 30 pairs of cufflinks. Each one of them tells its own story, like most pieces of jewelry should. – David Gotlib

The Best Quality Diamonds

Given his status as a diamond professional, Forbes notes, it makes perfect sense that Gotlib’s cufflinks use the best quality diamonds. To ensure those diamonds are precisely as advertised, Gotlib has them examined twice by IGI – before and after they are set into his creations. As quoted by Forbes:

We spare no effort in this aspect. Before we start working with the diamonds they are all sent to the IGI laboratory here in Antwerp. They are first screened and verified to be 100% natural diamonds. Once this is established, the lab will confirm that the color used is ‘collection white’, meaning that they are of a high white quality. The same procedure is followed to ascertain clarity, so as to provide assurance that there are only VS and VVS clarity diamonds in the cufflinks… We send the pieces back to the lab to confirm that the diamonds of this quality are indeed present in the cufflinks and the lab then issues a certificate verifying that fact.
