Leading the upcoming Christie’s sale in New York is a pair of exquisite fancy vivid orange-yellow diamond earrings, set to command a staggering price of up to $12 million.
Dubbed the California Sunset Diamonds, the primary pair of oval mixed-cut diamonds weigh 12.20 and 11.96 carats, complemented by a pair of oval brilliant-cut white diamonds measuring 3.03 and 3.02 carats, and smaller white marquise diamonds. The California Sunset Diamonds are headlining the December 6 Magnificent Jewels sale and are anticipated to be a highlight of the auction, showcasing the pinnacle of craftsmanship and rarity.
Christie’s has also revealed that a diverse array of colored stones and jewelry from renowned designers such as Bulgari, Cartier, Harry Winston, Graff, Jean Schlumberger, and Van Cleef & Arpels will be presented. Additionally, the sale will feature exceptional pieces from private collections, including those of World War II commander Adolphus Andrews, Jr., and Emily Taylor Andrews, American heiress Margaret Thompson Biddle, Hollywood filmmaker Ivan Reitman and his wife, as well as American billionaire and philanthropist Julian Robertson and his wife.
