Though widely celebrated for her revolutionary contributions to fashion, Coco Chanel also made a significant impact on jewelry design. She was a pioneer of costume jewelry, mixing fake and real gems to create pieces that were accessible yet stylish. Chanel’s belief that jewelry should not be limited to the elite led to the popularization of costume jewelry as a part of everyday fashion. Her designs often featured bold, geometric shapes and were emblematic of the Art Deco movement, influencing the aesthetic norms.

Her bold vision and innovative designs not only transformed Cartier’s aesthetic but also reflected the social changes and the empowerment of women during the early 20th century.
