New York, NY (July 24, 2023) – The International Gemological Institute (IGI), the world’s largest independent gemological laboratory, is excited to announce its participation at the RJO Buying Show in Philadelphia from June 29-31, 2023. With a wide range of engaging activities including onsite diamond screening, demonstrations, informative educational sessions and more, IGI aims to build strong relationships within the RJO community and support independent retailers across the United States.
Visitors to the event are invited to join IGI at booth # 207, where they can benefit from onsite diamond screening of loose and finished jewelry conducted by IGI’s expert gemologists. This service ensures the authenticity and quality of diamonds, providing peace of mind to retailers and customers alike. Additionally, IGI will be conducting demonstrations of diamond grading techniques, offering attendees a glimpse into IGI’s extensive expertise and services. These demos serve as an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to stay informed about the latest developments in diamond grading by IGI.
Education is a key aspect of IGI’s participation at the RJO Buying Show. Attendees are encouraged to attend two informative sessions. On Friday, July 28, from 5:30 – 6:30 pm, there will be a presentation titled “The Evolution of Grading” presented by John Pollard, IGI’s Senior Director of Education which will discuss the past, present and future of diamond, gemstone and jewelry grading and what jewelers need to know about the grading of tomorrow. The session will take place at the Marriott Philadelphia Hotel, Conference Room 407-408 (Level 4). On Saturday, July 28, from 9:30 am – 11:20 am, Avi Levy, President of IGI North America, will participate in a panel discussion titled “A Panoramic View of the State of Our Industry” located at Salons A-B in this Marriott Philadelphia Hotel. It will be moderated by Guy Pineda of Jewelry Store Marketers and will feature other esteemed panelists. These sessions will provide valuable insights and knowledge that can benefit both retailers and manufacturers in the industry.
