IGI Graduate Featured in The Times Group Publication

IGI Graduate Namita Naik was recently featured in The Pune Mirror, a publication by The Times Group, an Indian mega conglomerate which also publishes the largest selling English-language daily in the world.

Shine Like a Diamond

The article, titled “Shine like a diamond,” described Naik’s IGI training and the selection of her work to go on display at Delhi’s IIJSW jewelry show.

Namita Naik Jewellery was established nine years ago by Naik who graduated as a diamond grader and jewelry designer from the renowned International Gemological Institute (IGI) in Mumbai. The following year her designs were showcased at the prestigious jewelry show IIJSW Delhi. From that moment on, there has been no looking back for Naik, who gained a lot of experience with time, which helped her create a niche business – customizing diamond jewelry.

Emphasis on Trust

In describing her custom design process, Naik speaks of conceptualization from top to bottom, including the piece’s specific purpose, occasion and even the client’s likes and dislikes. She uses all of those components to inform her recommendations for diamond shape, setting style and ultimate ornamentation. Armed with this information, the designs are “meticulously sketched” and, once approved by the clients, her precious pieces are brought to life.

The entire journey involving my vision of creating the jewelry piece is part of an experience for the customer of owning designer jewelry. But, of course, trust is the most integral part of the business.

The Importance of Certification

Naik is bullish on certification. Once she has created a piece she encourages her clients to have it certified. As an IGI Jewelry Design Graduate she understands the thorough nature of laboratory analysis and the strength of third-party assessment and documentation.
