The resulting Gem-A Foundation Certificate (Cert GA) from the internationally respected Gemmological Association of Great Britain is one of the most well recognized credentials in the gem and jewelry industry. Earning it will equip you with fundamental understanding to confidently identify a wide range of common gemstones and their simulants, understand basic gemological principles, and establish a strong foundation for further advanced study or entry into various roles within the trade. Gemologists who earn the Foundation Certificate (Cert GA) and advance to further earn the Gem-A Gemmology Diploma (Gem Dip) can apply for Fellowship of Gem-A, allowing them to use the FGA credential after their name.
